1 DAY HIKING AT BRUKSLEDEN AND 2 NIGHTS STAY IN FOREST HUT

The Brukselden hiking trail is a total of 250 km long and divided into 27 stages, in this package you will hike along the beautiful stage or in Malingsbo-Kloten sourrounding.

The package includes a map of the hiking trail, fruit/self-made sandwich from the kitchen, 2 nights accommodation in a forest hut where you sleep on air mattress and sheepskin rugs in front of the crackling fire, simple dinner to cook yourself over the fire day 1 and 2, access to floating sauna for 2 hours (shared sauna) as well as breakfast that you make dinner yourselves over the fire.

STAGE DESCRIPTION 

Malingsbo-Kloten. You need to drive to this hiking trail. The hiking trail is a loop when you drive 15-20 minutes from Kolarbyn and park your car by a lake and then walk 14 kilometres by forest paths, small lakes, hills and you can stop and eat lunch at a wind shelter by a lake. This trail takes about 5-6 hours to walk and you need to bring lunch and good shoes with you.

Bruksleden. To get to the start at Borntorpet from Kolarbyn you walk about 2 km along a gravel road. The hike along Bruksleden and stage 18 is basically along forest paths, often through dense forest with young coniferous and deciduous trees. There is a short distance on a little road beyond the lake Dammen. This part is easy walking, and you will pass only a few lower altitudes, perfect for beginners.

Once at Borntorpet you walk the first kilometre of the hike along a running track. Shortly after crossing the second road you will enter a small hill with a nice view. At the lake Dammen, the trail follows the lakeside. A few kilometres further on, you reach the hiking target Lake Kolpen. Here you will a shelter right down by the water, where it is fine to have a well-deserved break. Here you can take the bus back to the starting point, or walk back the same way. (Please check the time table before you start walking).

Total distance: 6 km- 14 km

Difficulty: Easy to medium

What might be good useful on the hike: The hike is easy but might be a bit long. We recommend hiking boots, change of clothes, rainwear, something to eat and drink, first aid kit. More suggestions for what to bring for the adventure in Kolarbyn you will find on the website.

Date: You can book this self guided tour from April 1st to November 30th .

Time & Location: Check in at Kolarbyn 14.00. A camp host will meet you at check in hours and you will get a guided tour in Kolarbyn and get instruction about how everything works and where to find different. You will get access to the charcoal huts on the day of arrival from 14.00 to 11.00 the day of departure.

Included in the price: Hiking Map, lodging in a charcoal hut or timber lodge, dinner & breakfast at the campfire and you will have cook it yourselves. Access to the sauna (2 hours, shared sauna, and you heat it up yourself). Accommodation: Single bed in a hut for 2 persons, inflatable mattresses and sheepskins to sleep on, a sleeping bag and pillow Firewood, candles, matches, and basic kitchen equipment for cooking over the fire are also included in the price.

Staying: Single bed for 2 persons in the charcoal hut (and extra bed for child under 12 years old.

Do I need experience: No, this tour also works for the beginner.

Other: We recommend you to bring weatherproof clothes and shoes., warm clothes for cold nights, sleeping bags, pillows, flashlights, cameras, binoculars, swimwear, towels, water bottles, snacks.

Optional: You could also rent sleeping bag equipment and a private sauna.

The second stay at Kolarbyn and we are pleased also this time. Everyone should experience at least one night in Kolarbyn! I write it reluctantly, because I would like to have it all to myself! The breakfast was worth every penny!
