Nature guide and manager of Kolarbyn.

Contact: andreas  kolarbyn.se

Born: 1981 in Södertälje but grew up in Strängnäs. Now I live with my family in Hallstahammar nearby Kolarbyn.

The best thing about working in Kolarbyn: It's a dream work for me! And to meet so many interesting and exciting guests is incredible.

Former or other jobs: I'm a former officer in the Swedish armed forces and I have also worked as a store manager for 5 years.

Other interests: Orienteering, cross-country skiing and other outdoor activities is at the top of my list. I also like golf and nordic ice skating.

Favourite season: The late winter with plenty of snow and lots of sun. The kind of day when you can be outdoors in just a t-shirt.

I like to eat: I'm a heavy eater and my wife use to say it's no idé to ask Andreas if th food is tasty, he thinks everything is tasty! If I must choose I prefer food that has been prepared over open fire.

Favourite place in Sweden: The little peninsular in Kolarbyn by lake Skärsjön, at sunset when the lake is flat, it's unbeatable!

Favourite travel destination: I love mountains so anywhere mountainous is a potantial favorite destination.

Born: 1977 just outside Västerås. Now I live with Jenny and our little daughter Idun in Karmansbo, a small village outside Skinnskatteberg.

The best thing about working in Kolarbyn: All wild encounters! Our guests bring so much good vibes which gives me energy to spend night after night in the forest looking for wild animals.

Former or other jobs: I've never really had any other job. I studied computer science at Universities in Sweden, UK and Netherlands and received a master degree before I became a man of the woods.

Other interests: Well my main interest is basically nature and wildlife. During the Winter I travel to some warm and distant country for wildlife watching and to gather energy for the coming season.

Favourite season: Late Summer when most mammal babies have matured and move about in the woods.

I like to eat: Everything that is freshly collected from the forest like chatarelles, lingon berries and fish. I also like pancakes and dark chocolate, anything sweet really.

Favourite place in Sweden: A dark lake in the deep woods where Wolves are howling and Owls are calling.

Favourite travel destination: Warm countries that offer freshly squeezed fruit juices and lazy hammocs during our Winter season, for example Laos, Guatemala, Borneo and India.

Born: 1980 in the outskirts of Västerås.

The best thing about working in Kolarbyn: Kolarbyn and it's natural surroundings is unbeatable. To share my living room with our guests, moose, wolves, lynx and other wild animals is a privilege.

Former or other jobs: Travel guide and coordinator within the field of business travelling.

Other interests: Live music and all kind of instruments. My travels in Africa and other parts of the World, carrying a drum under my arm, got me hooked on World music.

Favourite season: The summer season in Kolarbyn. I love to take a short hike into the woods to have a refreshing drink from one of our own natural cold water springs.

I like to eat: Everything cooked in the forest tastes so much better then at home. Flatbread fried on open fire and apple mash is hard to resist.

Favourite place in Sweden: Any place with genuine nature by a lake or a stream where I can go fishing and then go for a swim.

Favourite travel destination: Two thirds of the World is covered by water. I wish everyone had the chance to go scuba diving in the vast underwater World. My favourite is Whalesharks watching in Donsol, Philippines.
