Volunteering in Kolarbyn!
We are now accepting applications from volunteers for 2010.
Do you want to work as a nature guide in Sweden´s most primitive hotel? Now you have the opportunity to join us and to spend a week or two outdoors. It is just two hours away from Stockholm. You will work with visitors from all over the world in an environment where wild encounters with moose and other animals is common.
As a volunteer your main responsibility will be to take care of arriving guests, prepare the forest huts and fire places, and to prepare food over open fire and do shopping in the village. You will also have the opportunity to assist the guides during tours.
During your period with us in Kolarbyn we offer you to accommodate in one of the forest huts with a gas stove so that you can prepare your own meals more easiliy.
As a volunteer in Kolarbyn you are an example for guests and visitors and it is therefore important that you are highly motivated in spending time outdoors and that you are prepared for primitive conditions. You will have to be socially outgoing, be able to handle an axe and belive that mud and dirty hands is good fun! You should be at least 20 years old. Car and drivers licence will make it easier for you to move around, but is not required for the work.
